Resumen en español
COTECMAR, a Colombian shipbuilding company, needed to know what level of digital maturity one of its divisions is in to stay at the forefront of industry 4.0. To this end, a process survey was carried out that made it possible to identify opportunities for improvement in the company's processes. The problem that COTECMAR faced was that industry 4.0 is characterized by the adoption of digital technologies to improve efficiency, productivity and quality. The company needed to improve its level of digital maturity to be able to compete in this new era. The proposed solution was to carry out a process survey that would identify opportunities for improvement in the company's processes. The survey was based on ISO 9001 and MIN TIC – DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION DIRECTION standards, and used methodologies and tools such as interviews, direct observation, flow charts and process maps. As a result of the survey, opportunities for improvement were identified in COTECMAR's equipment division. The project team developed a model to measure the level of digital maturity in a shipyard, which will be a valuable tool for the company to evaluate its progress in the future. Thanks to this model, it is determined that the equipment division is at the Advanced level. The survey of processes and the definition of the level of digital maturity has a positive impact on the competitiveness of COTECMAR. By improving its level of digital maturity, the company will be able to reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve the quality of its products and services. In addition to this, a route table was also presented using 5W2H tools to implement in the division and thus eliminate criticalities in the process.
