La siguiente investigación intenta comprobar si existen relación entre el rendimiento académico en Lengua Castellana y Matemáticas, y los estilos de enseñanza de los docentes y los estilos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes 5° de una institución educativa pública de Cartagena. Para la recopilación de la información fue requerido aplicar tres cuestionarios; uno de estilos de aprendizaje llamado CHAEA JUNIOR y dos de estilos de enseñanza denominados inventario de estilo de enseñanza para docentes universitarios IEE v.3.4 e inventario de estilo de enseñanza según la percepción del estudiante IEE v.3.4, ambos validados en el contexto. Por otro lado, se solicitó la información de los resultados académicos de la muestra de estudiantes observados con la finalidad de recabar y organizar esos datos de manera acorde para los efectos del estudio. Por medio de los referentes teóricos y las correspondientes herramientas estadísticas se logra hacer un análisis de resultados, aceptar o rechazar las hipótesis y plantear conclusiones que permiten mejorar los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje en la institución donde se realiza el estudio. La intención final es que los colegios de la ciudad se comiencen a interesar en prácticas educativas que beneficien la forma de aprender de todos sus estudiantes y que no sea sólo una parte de ellos lo que resulten beneficiados por los métodos de enseñanza aplicados.

The following investigation relates the learning styles of the students with the strategies and teaching of the teachers of Mathematics and Spanish Language; based on the performance of the fifth grade students of the San Felipe Neri Educational Institution. The study is carried out in order to determine the predominant learning styles in students and how they are related to student performance and teachers' teaching strategies. To collect the information, it was required to implement three questionnaires; one of learning styles called CHAEA JUNIOR and two of teaching styles called teaching style inventory for university teachers IEE v.3.4 and teaching style inventory according to student perception IEE v.3.4. both validated in context. On the other hand, the information on the academic results of the observed students was requested to collect and organize these data in accordance with the effects of the study. By means of the theoretical references and the corresponding statistical tools, it is possible to make an analysis of results, test our hypotheses and draw conclusions that allow improving the teaching and learning processes both in the institution where the study is carried out. The final intention is that the schools of the city begin to be interested in educational practices that benefit the way of learning of all its students and that it is not only a part of them that are benefited.
