This project aims identifying and designing a sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS) that works efficiently for the drowning conditions that take place in the Parque Industrial Carlos Vélez Pombo in Cartagena City, specifically at Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar. Some drainage problems were identified in this zone such as sedimentation, erosion, soil type, steep slope, soil absorption problems. In order to mitigate the problems found in this area we look forward to implementing a retention and retardation lake with erosion control in the high geologically risk zones for diminishing the sedimentation in channels down slope, also it will be seized along a pipes system and a pool for a bigger water retention in a given case which the systems collapses due to intense precipitations. This water will be able to be used for the irrigation of the green zones during the drought season. With this layout, the functional and structural features allow this system to be the most optimum due to the limitations and conditions of the zone studied, aiming to improve the local conditions, recover a water body and diminish erosion and sedimentation problems. Thus improve the conditions of the channels that drain the zone.
